The shapes of the trees are incredibly diverse and in constant struggle for predominance or survival. It belongs to a group of about 30 specimen of similar size. No offsprings have been found so far and the experts are arguing about wether it is a peculiar species. If this is the case, this species is probably destined to become extinct. Ein Blick in das Chaos auf einem Baum: Unzählige Aufsitzerpflanzen (sogenannte Epiphyten) und Orchideen. Viele leben nur von Luft und dem, was ihnen der Regen bringt. A look into the chaos on a tree: countless epiphytes and orchids. Many of them only live on air and what the rain supplies them. Dass sich solche Vielfaltswelten in Bäumen entwickeln können, braucht es zwei Dinge: ausreichende und gleichmäßig über das Jahr verteilte Niederschläge und alte Bäume. There are two factors required to make this diversity in the trees possible: enough rainfall averaged throughout the year and old trees. Bäume und Vögel brauchen und unterstützen sich gegenseitig. Auf jungen Bäumen würde ein Ara nicht nisten können - sie müssen hoch sein. Der Korridor soll 'Arabäume' erhalten und fördern. Trees and birds need and support each other. A macaw would not be able to nest on young trees- they must be high. The “corridor” is supposed to sustain and foster 'macaw trees'. Vögel verbreiten die Samen von Bäumen und tragen zur Erhaltung mancher bedrohter Baumart bei. Natürlicher und billiger als die mühevolle Umwandlung einer Viehweide in einen Wald. Doch dazu müssen die Rahmenbedingungen stimmen - der Vogel Futter finden, nisten können und darf nicht durch illegale Jäger bedroht werden. Birds spread the seeds of the trees and thus contribute to the preservation of many a threatened forest species. This is a lot more natural and cheaper than the troublesome transformation of cattle pasture into a forest.
